Location and Access
The conference will be held in the Hotel Catalonia Ramblas. The hotel is situated in the historical centre of Barcelona, near Las Ramblas and a few metres from Plaza Cataluña.

Warning
Pickpockets are known to operate on the public transport system, particularly on the Metro and the transport links to the airport (bus and train). Please take appropriate care of your belongings when travelling by public transport. Note also that the conference date coincide with those of one of Barcelona's major festivals, La Mercè. The streets will thus be very crowded and pickpockets are known to target tourists during such events. Please take extra care of your belongings while walking around Barcelona.

Local public transport:
Metro
The nearest metro stations are Universitat Station on Line 1 (80m to the hotel from the C. de Pelai exit), and Catalunya Station Line 3 (100m to the hotel from the Pl. Catalunya exit). Information about routes, tickets and timetables can be found here.
Buses
Local buses stop at both Universitat (80m to the hotel) and Plaza Catalunya (100m to the hotel). Information about routes, tickets and timetables can be found here.
Train (RENFE)
Local trains stop at Catalunya Station (100m to the hotel from the C. de Balmes exit). Information about routes, tickets and timetables can be found here.
If you arrive by plane...
...from "El Prat" Airport, Barcelona
We recommend taking the Aerobus from the airport to Plaza Catalunya, which is a short walk from the hotel. This is the most direct route using public transport. Other options are described below.
Taxi
The approximate price of a taxi from the airport is 35€.
Línea Mataró
Runs from terminal 2 of the airport to Estación de Sants. A free shuttle bus links terminal 1 to terminal 2, and stops first at terminal 2 and then directly outside the train station. From Sants, change to Metro Line 3 and transfer to Catalunya (100m to the hotel from the Pl. Catalunya exit). A timetable for the Línea Mataró can be found here.
Bus
The Aerobus (lines A1 and A2) links terminal 2 of the airport to Plaza Catalunya (100m from the hotel), where the bus terminates. Tickets cost 5€ and can be bought on the bus as well as at the station. A free shuttle bus links terminal 1 to terminal 2.

Bus
Barcelona Bus - Single Ticket 12€ / Return ticket 21€. Travel time 1 hour 15 mins. The bus stops at the Estació del Nord Bus Station, located in Alí Bei St. The closest metro station to Estació del Nord is Arc de Triomf, which is immediately across the road from the main exit. Take the metro line 1 from Arc de Triomf to Universitat or Catalunya

Bus
Barcelona Bus - Single Ticket 12.50€ / Return ticket 22€. Travel time 1 hour 30 mins. The bus stops at the Estació Sants. There is a metro station inside the main building of Estació Sants. Take the metro line 3 from there to Catalunya
